And not just in physical healthcare, but mental healthcare as well, where stigma and a lack of political will leaves facilities understaffed and parity laws unenforced.
Healthcare workers are on the frontline of our healthcare and mental health crisis, yet their voices too often go unheard; more than 90 percent of healthcare workers lack union representation.
The Healthcare Professionals Alliance works to empower healthcare workers to improve staffing, wages, benefits, working conditions, and to improve care for the patients they serve. By forming a union in their workplaces, healthcare workers can win strong contracts that guarantee annual wages, protect and expand benefits, and establish standards for staffing and patient safety.
